This association does not rest on the three of us alone. It rests on people who turn up when they are needed — and ask for nothing in return. We want to thank them by name, because they deserve it.
Martin
He comes to drive the tractor and make hay with us. Without him our work would be far harder — and the hay season is the thing that decides whether the herd gets through the winter.
Vojo
A young farmer and tractor driver. He turns up, gets into the tractor and works — no fuss and without waiting to be asked twice. It is good to know that another generation is growing up in this work.
Aďa and Šimon
Our students. They have little time, but when they can, they are glad to come and get stuck in.
Miro and Maja
And everyone around them. Whenever hands are needed, they are with us, and they never ask what's in it for them.
Family
Thank you to our family for being with us.
Good neighbours
When we were extending the arrival paddock, they let us graze a piece of their land as well.
Companies and donors
StavStar s.r.o.
In September 2026 they contributed 200 euros and brought us two aluminium shovels. The shovel was on our list of needs, because ours was on its last legs and we have it in our hands every day. They brought two.
The people who contribute
People we mostly do not know contribute to our transparent account. Someone sends five euros, someone more, someone every month.
We do not name them here. Most of them do not want that and it is their business. But let one thing be clear: that money pays for things that would otherwise have to wait. X-rays, hoof trimming, medicines, hay for the winter. It is not abstract support, it is a particular horse who got treatment at the moment he needed it.
Thank you. Also on behalf of the horses who know nothing about it.
And a thank you of another kind
There are people who help us with their work — and that work is their trade, the thing they live on. We pay for it as we should. But they still deserve to be mentioned, because many times they did more than they had to.
MVDr. Martina Jurčenková, CERP
Our vet — VET & FIT. She has been with us from the beginning: at rescues, at night-time call-outs and at decisions that are not easy.
Veterinary care is a paid service and we pay for it. But our vet has also helped us free of charge more times than we can count — she came when she was needed, gave advice over the phone in the middle of the night, left us equipment. Without her, many of our stories would have ended differently.
The local agricultural cooperative
Concrete panels for the drinking troughs were on our list of needs for a long time. The co-operative gave them to us — and with them the springs on our pasture will at last become proper drinking places.
It is help we value all the more because it came from neighbours who know themselves how much work it takes to keep animals in water.
We have years of good neighbourly — by now rather friendly — relations with the co-operative. One time one of us needs something, another time the other, and it always gets sorted out somehow. It is one of those things that in a village still work the way they should, and we are grateful for it.
Thank you also to those who do not wish to be named
Some people help and do not want to be mentioned anywhere. Our thanks go to them too — they know who they are.
Would you like to help as well?
Hands are always needed on a farm — with the hay, with the building, with the animals. You do not need any special skills, we will teach you. Get in touch at riozdruzenie@gmail.com or become a member.
