Story
Lysko came to us together with Buro — both were on our pasture for a time, when their owner was temporarily unable to look after them. Burko had to go back to work before long, but Lysko stayed on with us and enjoyed the herd and the freedom.
Then I had to give him back. I made an excuse at the time about having a lot of work with the muck and that he really ought to go home — and I regret it to this day. He could have stayed with us a while longer, perhaps he would have stayed for good. Lysko stayed in my heart, and I always think how much better his life would be in a herd and out on pasture.
That is another reason we go to see him and are slowly persuading his owner to bring the horses to us — so that they can be in a herd and on pasture. For us Lysko's story is a reminder that hesitating does not pay.
How Lysko is doing
The first entry is on its way — news and new photos will appear here soon.

Would you like to help?
Lysko is not our horse. He has an owner of his own and we ask for nothing and collect nothing. We write about him because his story is part of what we do.
If you would like to help, here is a contribution to the work of the association. It goes to the horses who really are here with us.

What we need right now →
A light aluminium shovel for mucking out, a corrugated pipe for a reservoir, LDPE hoses for a water supply, concrete utility poles. Maybe you know where to find them.
Thank you →
